Ciphr Absence Manager
With sickness and absenteeism costing British business millions
of pounds each year, sickness and absence management is a
serious issue for HR professionals and business-owners alike. In
dealing with such issues as frequent short term absenteeism or
malingering and long term absence, intervention is often
required to resolve any underlying personal or medical issues.
With HR departments and line management under increasing time
pressures, there is often an overall lack of management
information, reporting and coordination of absenteeism records
and resultant action within many businesses. The need for a
simple to use, cost-effective, generic absence management system
is consequently overwhelming.
Manage Sickness Absence in the Workplace
Ciphr Absence Manager is an intelligent voice-based software
solution that helps to record and manage employee absence
information across a business. The system is accessed through a
landline or mobile telephone by a company's employees who are
asked to call a designated number at the start of any absence to
inform their employers of the nature of their sickness and
anticipated date of return to work. Employees are also prompted
to call the same number to amend their period of absence if
necessary, and upon returning to work to confirm the end of
their period of absence.
Web-based Absence Monitoring Tool
The HR team can access the service via a standard web browser,
across secure password-protected connections to set-up and
administer their system. They can then, along with Line
Managers, also access and download management reports, which
summarise all call and absence data. The system can be developed
in line with a company's standard sickness and absence reporting
procedures to ensure familiarity and compliance. The application
can also be configured by individual clients in accordance with
their requirements to communicate in real time with specified
departments and/or personnel, to ensure awareness of any
problems as they develop, and trigger the appropriate "human"
interventions. Data is available for all aspects of every
employee interaction within the system and this is made
available in a number of standard management reports, with the
option for further bespoke reports as required.

"We're already realising many benefits of the new system, not least of a greater level of visibility and reporting information.
It's proving invaluable to our managers with the people management aspects of their role"
- Helen Archibald, HR Director
