Ciphr HR Software consists
of the browser-based Ciphr Net and an extensible,
Windows-based back-office application. The browser-based
Ciphr Net is aimed at employees, managers and HR
Administrators as well as the core Ciphr back-office
product for core HR users, including People, Recruitment
and Training modules.
Ciphr is built on the Windows platform using a
component-based architecture – it is designed from the
bottom-up to be n-tier. Data storage is SQL Server, the
front-end Windows application and the middle-tier was
originally written in VB6 with COM+ being the
communication method. Work is on-going to progressively
migrate to .Net. Due to the component-based nature of
the system, CIP is managing this gradually. The ability
to evolve enables CIP to retain the vast repository of
embedded business logic and to continually develop and
release new modules and features.
Ciphr Net is the Intranet application, substantially
written in ASP.Net and compliant with W3C AA
accessibility guidelines to be accessible by
partially-sighted and blind people.
Ciphr is built to be secure. Storing the data in
Microsoft SQL Server offers the protection associated
with using one of the most ubiquitous databases in the
world. Ciphr Net has been widely tested for security and
is served up to a number of clients over the Internet.
Ciphr Decisions is a speed-of-thought data analysis
tool, used by both HR and senior management. It is built
using industry-standard components; The Data Warehouse
is SQL Server with the cubes built with SQL Analysis
Services. The data is served up to the client in
Internet Explorer, utilising the Office Web Components
for an intuitive user interface.
Ciphr Recruitment Online is a hosted, web-based
recruitment front-end to the Recruitment modules in
Ciphr and CfW. It is built on ASP.Net, uses a web service
to upload vacancies, transmits candidate information in
an XML file via email and is fully browser independent
and W3C AA accessibility compliant. |
